Kaumātua Reserve Range
A kaumātua is the name given to a respected elder of a Māori whanau or family. It is recognition of the significant contribution they have made to their community.
Our Reserve wines are each named in honour of a kaumātua of the Māori owners of Tohu Wines, the Wakatū Incorporation, a collective comprised of four iwi (tribes) from the top of the South Island.
This range is produced from exceptional parcels of fruit, where the wine is considered to be of outstanding quality and deserving of the name kaumātua.
